"God's in His heaven", the poet said
And I can but agree.
I thank you Lord for who you are
And what you give to me.
Your Father's arms wrapped oh so tight
Around me lest I fall.
Your ear that ever hears my cry
However faint my call.
Your strength to face each new day's tasks,
Your voice that bids me stay
When I would wrong direction take,
When wayward feet would stray.
Your wisdom and your mercy Lord,
Your peace when all seems bleak.
Your presence with me in the storm
If I your face will seek.
Your love for me that knows no bounds
That drew me to your side.
That bid me kneel before the cross -
The cross where Jesus died.
Where your Son died for all my sins
That I no debt need pay.
And so my heart must soar with joy
In gratefulness today.
